Job Description

The IT Systems Tester is responsible for executing manual and automated testing to ensure the quality, functionality, and reliability of the organisation’s digital bespoke applications and business systems. The role contributes to test strategy development, executes test cases across front-end and back-end environments, and manages defects through to resolution.

Working closely with developers, business analysts, DevOps/Database engineers, and infrastructure teams, the tester will support the delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of applications built across two primary development technology streams:

Development Stream One: Angular, Node.js, TypeScript
Development Stream Two: C#, .NET Core, NHibernate, Azure services

• Stream Three: Infrastructure and Business systems

Note: It would be ideal for the candidate to have development capability in either stream one or two to support developers in times of need.

Key responsibilities include validating software updates and fixes, supporting CI/CD-driven release processes, troubleshooting issues under guidance, and improving test automation. The role requires active participation in agile delivery, SDLC processes, and incident prioritisation to maintain stable, dependable system operations.

Out-of-hours or on-call support may be required where the incumbent is undertaking, or can undertake, development or release-related activities, to ensure continuity of critical business services.
